Boon Family Picnic, Thu., May 27, 5:30 PM
Meal Orders Due by Fri, May 21

Join your Boon family on Thursday, May 27 at the annual Boon Family Picnic.  Enjoy a delicious meal from Subway or pack your own picnic.  The talented Soundmasters DJ will provide musical entertainment.  Other attractions will be a balloon artist, stilt walker, bounce houses, inflatable slide, fun house, face painting, cake walk and watch our first ever tug-of-war contest between the grade levels and some lucky teachers!  We will recognize our graduating 6th grade class and welcome the incoming 2010/2011 kindergarten class.  And not to forget, we’ll say a special good-bye to our Cheatham students.  The deadline for ordering your Subway meals is Friday, May 21, so please return your order to school as soon as possible.  If you did not receive the order form or need a new one, please get one at the front desk.

Congratulations to Our Boon Authors

The editors of Patriot Press, Boon PTA's student book-publishing program, would like to congratulate all 155 of our student authors. They've got the "write" stuff! Over 135 newly published books written and illustrated by K-6 students were dedicated to the library yesterday morning during the Authors' Reception. Students were allowed to take their books home for two days to share and enjoy with family and friends. All Patriot Press books are due back in the library on Fri., May 14.

From Jeff English, Tournament Chair

Spencer Squire Golf Tourney

On behalf of the Squire Family, I would like to personally thank everyone that played, sponsored, volunteered, donated gifts, or just attended the event on Sunday, April 25th.  We had great weather (minus the wind, but Spencer always liked a little challenge when he played sports) and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did playing and hanging out for the day with friends and family.  It is because of your support and generosity that Spencer's legacy continues on and is helping to make a difference in various organizations in his memory, among them Boon Elementary.  Even though Spencer's circle of life was small, his story continues to grow and touch others because of your participation in this annual event.  Congratulations to all of our team and contest winners, and particularly to our Kid’s Putting Contest Winner, Drew Summers.

From Your Crossing Guard

Libby Vermeire

Thank you so much to the students and parents and PTA  for all my flowers and the wonderful gifts that you gave me during Teacher/Staff Appreciation week!  I am so glad to have such a great group of kids and parents that use my crosswalk! You made me feel very special and appreciated!   Thank you again!!

Blooms Brighten Day for Seniors

Many of the flowers from Boon’s flower for teacher day were donated to the Alzheimer’s Unit of   Presbyterian   Village   North in Dallas.   The flowers brought many smiles from patients and reminds us how small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
